Thousands gather throughout the year from the US to the UK to remember the lives lost from flu. This occasion brings our communities and families together for a day of prevention, awareness and remembrance. The CDC estimates overall, there were 959,000 hospitalizations and 79,400 deaths. More than 48,000 hospitalizations occurred in children; and 183 confirmed deaths from Influenza (aged < 18 years). These sombering statistics all took place in just one Flu season ( 2017-2018)* Hospitalizations and mortality associated with the 2017–2018 influenza season continues to demonstrate how severe the influenza virus infection can be. Our goal is to empower our attendees with knowledge and awareness that will motivate and encourage each parent, teacher, child and member of the community to take a stand by choosing preventative measures against flu as part of their lifestyle. We discuss the importance of good hygiene, hand-washing, vaccination and how to recognize what Influenza is so, if needed they can seek medical attention in a timely manner.
Our one and only Sniffles and his team, The Flu Exterminators join us for this event. They will be cheering on all of our new Flu Exterminators joining us over at our #flushotforwho clinic. The End-FLUenza understands that time gets in the way of us gearing up for the flu season sometimes. We also know that easy, quick access isn't always readily available to get our flu vaccine. So we offer convenient access and no cost to you flu vaccines at all our events for all ages. Join our team! Be a Flu Exterminator! When you walk in to our #flushotforwho clinic you will see several reasons why taking preventative measures isn't just for you, but for those around you as well.
Walk to End-FLUenza is one of our major fundraising events. We couldn't do this bug dropping event without your help.
